I was reading an article earlier (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/24411271/) and it talked about how almost 60% of black children in the United States cannot swim. If that is the prevalence in children, I wonder what the prevalence in adults is.
So, here is my question: How many of you out there can swim?
I am so bad, I can't float in water, doggie-paddle, whatever. I can't do any of that stuff :o

Never even been in a pool or any body of water in my life, so i think it will be safe to say i don't know how to swim.

I taught myself how to swim because my gym has a pool and swimming is great for weight loss. I perfected my swimming skills in college, though, because I went to a HBCU. I believe that all HBCUs require their students to take a swimming course as a graduation requirement.
