Is this normal?

I don't know what got into me today. I woke up this morning and the first thing that came to my mind was to write a list of things that I want in a man.  I am pretty sure that I am leaving some things out, but this is what I have for now.  I have no clue if it is normal to wake up in the morning and have a huge urge to write a list such as this one.  I will continue to add to the list, but I am not sure that I will share the updates unless they are truly important.

I guess I learned nothing from watching the Chilli show on Vh1.  Anyway, here is my list in no particular order (simply because I am too lazy to put them in order of importance right now):
  1. College graduate OR has a trade and is good at it
  2. Preferably no kids
  3. No past relationship drama. ( Crazy Exes, etc)
  4. Affectionate
  5. Sense of humor
  6. Likes kids/would like to have kids later on
  7. Not bossy
  8. Respectful
  9. Patient
  10. Accepting towards Nigerian/Yoruba culture
  11. Doesn't have an aversion to visiting Nigeria
  12. Spontaneous when necessary
  13. Romantic
  14. Humble
  15. Great communicator
  16. Good listener
  17. Can engage me in conversations, silly and intelligent, when necessary
  18. Generous
  19. Loving
  20. Financially responsible
  21. Wants to get married at some point ( I am not baby-momma material! :o)
  22. Not possessive
  23. Motivated
  24. Tactful
  25. Not a cheater (no wandering eyes either)
  26. Don't brag about worldly accomplishments/don't try to "buy" me.
  27. Be truthful, always
  28. Love me unconditionally
  29. No crazy sexual history
  30. No crazy/evil potential in-laws
  31. Free of STDs and HIV (YES, I will make you get tested!!!!)
  32. No napoleon's complex ( I will not squat in pictures, or take my heels off just so I don't hurt your ego.)
  33. Fears God [Hey, the bible says: "The fear of God is the beginning of wisdom!" (Prov 1:7)]
  34. Easy on the eyes ;)
Do you think this is too much?  I don't think I am asking for too much, right?

  1. Doesnt sound too crazy, although personally I think "sense of humour" is very cliche. One question is are you willing and able to mirror the things on your list.

  5. it could only look like it's too much cos the list is long but in reality, it really isn't too much..i would just say be sure of what u can compromise on and the 'uncompromisables'

  7. Quite normal. But the reality of actually meeting one person that meets the requirements on this list is a pretty tall order, but I do know that all things are possible through prayer, so if you want it bad enough, tell God. Happiness and peace is what I pray for you. Take care.
